Ways to donate

We know that everyone’s circumstances differ. That’s why we have three clear, complementary donation channels, so you can choose the one that works for you.

If you would like to talk more about maximising the impact of your donation just get in touch; we would be happy to discuss.

Every donation is handled with care. The 1876 Trust works closely with the club to ensure that all donations are used wisely, strategically, and transparently, with long-term impact in mind.

General fund

Regular monthly or one-off donation

Keep OUCCC moving: Make a regular monthly donation to offset the rising annual costs – from training to travel – and keep our sport inclusive and affordable.

Gifts to our general fund will be given to the club committee for them to direct the money towards the area of greatest need, such as coaching and reducing costs of attending races.

Targeted support

One-off donation

Fund something tangible: If you prefer something concrete, choose to support a specific cost.

We have provided some examples below but should you think of anything you would like to help with then please do get in touch:

  • Out of term coaching
  • BUCS/Varsity transport
  • Archive conservation
  • Team kit

Endowment fund

Regular monthly or one-off donation

Build our endowment: Help secure OUCCC’s long-term future by contributing to our 1876 Endowment Fund, helping to underpin the club’s activity for generations to come.

Current students

In 2024, on the recommendation of the outgoing and previous OUCCC Club Captains (Jared Martin and Thomas Renshaw), The 1876 Trust and OUCCC Committee implemented the Student Regular Giving Programme. This aims to build the income stream needed to replace the Club's lost sponsorship income and contribute to the 150th Anniversary Campaign endowment fund.

Members at the beginning of their final year in OUCCC are asked to contribute a minimum of £15 per quarter via the Student Regular Giving Programme, for three years. It is our hope that we will have 20 regular student givers each year over the coming three years leading up to the Club's 150th Anniversary.

Those who contribute don't have to pay membership subs to OUCCC in their final year.

Recognising your donation

All supporters who have donated are recognised on this website and in our monthly newsletter.

Those who over their lifetime have donated over £1876 will be recognised forever on a physical honour board at Iffley Road.

Other plans to demonstrate our gratitude to our supporters include bespoke mementos and free events all of which will be developed over The Anniversary Campaign.

Transformational Gifts

If you would like to discuss making a transformational gift, or leaving a legacy gift in your will, please get in touch with us.

Donating to The 1876 Trust

A Guide To Donating

Gift Aid

Gift Aid is a government scheme which lets us claim an extra 25% on everything you give at no extra cost to you.

It does not cost you anything extra to sign up to Gift Aid. This is because, as a UK taxpayer, you have already paid tax on the money you’re donating.

All you need to do is make a Gift Aid declaration by ticking the box when donating. Please tick the box!

US Donations

Gifts from our U.S. donors are received by Americans for Oxford. Americans for Oxford, Inc. (AFO) is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization (recognised by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service) which seeks gifts to benefit the University. Gifts to AFO qualify for an income tax deduction to the full extent allowed by law.

All gifts given to AFO will be recieved by OUCCC and not The 1876 Trust.
